Within its charity initiatives, Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma” distributed one and a half hundred grocery baskets to needy people in Kyiv. The benefit took place in Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre in mid-January.

The initiative has been implemented yet again due to the close cooperation between RAMU "Umma" and MuslimeHelfen, the German charity fund, as well as the support of the All-Ukrainian Association "Alraid". While talking to the people who came to the assistance on this cold winter day, Mufti Said Ismagilov highlighted the RAMU "Umma" constantly provided possible support to Muslims in need.

“We know that the quarantine and the whole situation have put many Muslim families of our country in a tight corner,” said Mufti. “Due to the concern of our brothers from MuslimeHelfen Fund and Alraid’s volunteers we are able to invite you here today to hand over the food”.

Every basket consists of the most essential products: rice, flour, buckwheat, pasta, sunflower oil, sugar, etc. Its total weight is almost 40 kg, great support for families to have been in a trouble. According to the volunteers, almost 150 families have got the charity during that day, but there are many more of those who need sustained assistance.

Just to remind, over the past year RAMU "Umma" has prepared and then donated thousands of grocery baskets to people in need. In addition, Umma helps orphans, displaced persons and people of other vulnerable categories on the ongoing basis.
