On the night of July 31, as a result of a massive missile attack on Kyiv, the head office of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma” was damaged. The blast wave shattered windows and doors, and fragments caused destruction to several internal premises.

This attack is yet another example of a deliberate assault on civilian, educational, and religious infrastructure. Once again, the targets were not military facilities, but places of worship, spiritual reflection, and community service.

This is not the first instance of the destruction of Muslim religious sites in Ukraine. Previously, mosques of the Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma” were destroyed in the cities of Bakhmut and Sievierodonetsk, and a mosque in Kostiantynivka was also damaged.

Despite the shelling, the ongoing danger, and the challenges of wartime, Muslims of Ukraine continue their work. They serve their communities, support those in need, stand by one another, and pray for peace and victory. We remain in our place, fulfilling our duty to God and to the people of Ukraine.

The Religious Administration of Muslims of Ukraine “Umma” appeals to the global Muslim community, as well as to religious and civic organizations, to express solidarity with the Muslims of Ukraine who, together with all Ukrainian citizens, are enduring the war and defending their country and their faith.

We call on the international community to strongly condemn attacks on religious sites and to unite efforts to stop Russian aggression and protect the spiritual and civil life in Ukraine.
